Last Revised April 17, 2004

EB2GOV and it's participating communities are committed to safeguarding your privacy online. Please read the following statements to better understand how data used by EB2GOV is treated as you make full use of the EB2GOV Web site. EB2GOV is a partnership between the participating municipalities and Interware Development Co., Inc.

If you have any questions regarding our privacy statement, please feel free to contact us by e-mail at Privacy.

Gathering of Information

Voluntary Submission

EB2GOV does not collect personally identifying information about any individual. The information submitted to EB2GOV is passed thru in a completely encrypted manner (ssl 128 bit) to the appropriate section of the EB2GOV servers. Nothing more is passed thru than would otherwise pass if the anticipated transaction were to take place in person. Any necessary documents will be mailed to the address last known.

Cookies

A cookie is a data file that certain web sites write to your computer's hard drive when you visit these sites. A cookie file can contain differing types of information, such as a user identification code, but usually is limited to information that enhances the user's experience both during the current session and subsequent return visits. EB2GOV does not leave cookies on your machine.

Browser Level Data

EB2GOV Web servers collect information about a site user's IP address, referrer and browser type by reading this information from the visitor's browser (information provided by every user's browser). This information is collected in a database and used--in an aggregated, anonymous manner--in our internal analysis of traffic patterns within our Web site. This information is automatically logged by most Web sites.

Use of Information

Our primary goal in collecting user information is to enhance your experience on our Web site. We achieve this goal by, among other things, providing interactive communications such as renewal notices to the e-mail address that you provide to us.

E-Mail

EB2GOV shall not disclose, distribute or rent its e-mail subscriber list to any third party, nor shall it permit anyone else to do so.

DEFINITIONS:

IP address: Every computer connected to the Internet has a numeric address called an "IP address." This may or may not correspond uniquely to a particular computer. In some cases, IP addresses can be resolved to domain names, which may indicate a site visitor's Internet service provider, employer, university, etc.

Browser type: A user's browser is a software program running on a computer that allows users to access documents on the World Wide Web. Browsers can be either text or graphic. They read HTML coded pages that reside on a server and interpret the coding into what the user sees as Web pages. Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer are examples of Web browsers. Browser type typically discloses hardware platform, operating system, and browser software and version.

Referrer: The referrer is the URI of the Internet resource or page that causes a browser to request a page or image from our servers.
